Termitarium
The termite is a small, soft-bodied insect that is found in most warm climates. There are more than 2,000 different species of termites, but the most common is the subterranean termite. These termites live in underground colonies, and can cause extensive damage to buildings and other wooden structures.
One of the most interesting places to see termites is in a termite mound or termitarium. A termitarium is a mound-like structure that is built by termites to house their colony. The typical termitarium is about 2-3 feet high and 6-8 feet in diameter. The mound is made of mud, soil, and plant debris, and is often surrounded by a moat-like ditch that helps to keep out predators.
The inside of a termitarium is a maze of tunnels and chambers that house the queen, the king, the young, and the workers. The tunnels are also used to store food and to allow the termites to move around the mound.
Termites are very important in the environment, because they help to break down dead plants and animals. Without termites, the earth would be covered in dead plants and animals.
